SSP Health News - GP of the Year Award

Dr Shikha Pitalia was awarded the GP of the Year 2008 Award by the Royal College of General Practitioners Mersey Faculty in October 2008. 

The award was presented to Dr Shikha Pitalia on the 9th October 2008 at the AGM of the Faculty. Shikha said she was “honoured to have received such a prestigious award”. This award follows on from previous years success when Alan Johnson, Secretary of State for Health, presented Shikha with the NHS Alliance Acorn Award for work on Practice Based Commissioning. Shikha has also been recognised for work on using mobile technology by the NHS Alliance and by the prestigious Health Service Journal for reducing unscheduled admissions following the success of the Acute Visiting Scheme in 2007. 

Recently the husband and wife team of Sanjay and Shikha Pitalia, as SSP Health, have been chosen to deliver some of the new Darzi Practices in the northwest.
