SSP Health News - SSP Health receives National Award

SSP Health are proud to announce that Ashton Medical Centre has received national recognition for their innovative scheme to improve patient access. 

We have been highly commended at the NHS Alliance Acorn Awards for 'Innovations in Practice Management'. The award is for the open access surgeries which have been introduced at lunchtimes, after school for school age children and after work and for the use of a text service to cancel appointments which has reduced DNAs. 

All the patient satisfaction surveys undertaken following implementation of these surgeries have given very positive feedback in terms of same day GP access, minimum or no time off work to see GP, rapid reassurance and reduced anxiety by being seen quickly by a GP. DNA rates are decreasing and as a result the ability to offer pre-bookable appointments has increased.
