Blood Tests
Blood TestingThe practice will supply you with a blood form if you need a blood test, this will either be given to you at surgery or will be sent to you in the post as part of our Annual Review recall system.
Please check whether your form asks you to fast. If you are required to fast, please have only sips of water for 8 hours before the test. Please take any medication as normal.
You will need to contact the surgery between 7 to 10 days later to receive the results of your blood test and find out what you need to do next.

There is an onsite free car park within the grounds of the practice for patients.
From St Helen's Road
Continue North along St Helens Road until you reach High Street on the right hand side. Turn right and continue along High Street, this will turn into Lever Street. The practice is located at the junction of Rupert Street and Lever Street.
From Deane Road
Heading towards Bolton Town Centre along Deane Road, follow it until you reach the junction with Moor Lane and then join the A579 (Derby Street), continue along this road until you reach High Street on your left. Turn into High Street and continue along, this will turn into Lever Street. The practice is located at the junction of Rupert Street and Lever Street.
From Bolton Town Centre
From Bolton Town Centre, head South along Bradshawgate, continue along Manchester Road, turning right into Orlando Street, turn right onto Thynee Street and then left on to Lever Street. The practice is located at the junction of Rupert Street and Lever Street.

Call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 for medical advice or visit www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk A nurse led walk-in service providing health advice and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries is available at : Lever Chambers Centre for Health, Ashburner Street, Bolton (near the Octagon Theatre). Open 8.00am till 9.00pm on weekdays and 8.30am till 4.00pm weekends. Patients are welcome to walk-in without an appointment. The service offers consultation with an experienced NHS nurse, who can provide advice and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. Some medications can also be supplied from a limited list of products, which nurses can prescribe, including emergency hormonal contraception. Patients can attend the Walk-in centre with minor conditions who do not necessarily need an appointment with a GP. For some patients, a visit to their GP may still be required, in which case the nurse will refer on.
The type of problems dealt with at the Walk-in centre include; tummy upsets, sore throats, ear infections, cuts, sprains or strains, rashes or flu-like symptoms. The contact phone number for the Walk-in Centre is 01204 46 2787 - this number is available on weekdays up till 4.30pm.
