An SSP Health practice is still Outstanding
Healthcare inspectors believe an SSP Health practice continues to give Outstanding care to patients.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has recently reviewed how Bolton General Practice operates and is happy to continue to rate the quality of services as Outstanding.
Our SSP Health practice was first given an Outstanding rating by the CQC in 2017, in a glowing report the organisation issued after inspecting the care we provide to patients.
Inspectors picked out certain aspects of our service, including us having a Patient Liaison Officer to give a voice to vulnerable patients, especially those whose first language is not English and those who are new to the practice, to ensure they receive the very best healthcare.
The CQC said the practice also gave valuable support to people who were legitimately appealing against changes to new benefit and asylum rules.
Inspectors also praised the practice for recognising that social isolation and loneliness were key issues for some patients, which were eased by the surgery hosting weekly ‘Conversation Cafes’ where people can talk generally about issues they face and receive advice in an informal way.
The Conservation Cafes continue to take place at the practice, which moved to new premises in Moor Lane last year.
SSP Health Area Manager Jane Wallace said: “We are really pleased that the Outstanding rating at this practice has been extended for another year by the CQC after it reviewed our services.
“At Bolton General Practice, all our staff pride themselves on going the extra mile for our patients and the people we serve can rest assured that they are getting the very best healthcare possible at our practice."
Thanks very much to all our staff there and the PPG for their help.
