CORONAVIRUS INFORMATION

If you think you have Coronavirus and have symptoms, which can include a cough and/or fever, DO NOT come into your GP practice or visit any other health facility, including a pharmacy.
Please stay at home and look at the NHS 111 web pages below for advice and information.

Anyone who has a new, continuous cough and/or a high temperature should stay at home for 7 days to prevent your illness spreading.

Do not come into your GP surgery, read the NHS 111 web pages below for advice and information.

For most people, Coronavirus (also called COVID-19) will be a mild infection.
Do not call NHS111 if you have mild symptoms. Read the advice on the websites. If your conditions worsen and you are starting to struggle for breath, call NHS 111. In a medical emergency, ring 999.

If you think you may have Coronavirus, please go to this NHS 111 web page: https://111.nhs.uk/service/covid-19

The Government and the NHS are well prepared to deal with this virus. You can help, too.
Germs can live on some surfaces for hours. To protect yourself and others always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Bin the tissue and, to kill the germs, wash your hands with soap and water or use a sanitiser gel.

Washing your hands regularly and properly for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water is the best way to slow the spread of almost any germs, including Coronavirus.

Our practices are receiving requests for travel cancellation forms from people who want to cancel trips because of the risk of getting Coronavirus.

For advice from the Foreign Office regarding travelling to specific areas of the world, see this web page: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice

Depending on your travel insurance policy, most insurance companies will cover cancelled trips to countries to which the Foreign Office advise not to travel. No certificate from your GP is required.

Our surgeries are unable to provide letters or certificates to travel insurance companies supporting requests for refunds by patients who, without any significant medical illness, cancel their travel plans. For more information, speak to your travel insurance provider or holiday company.
