New and expectant parents, carers and grandparents registered with SSP practices have been hearing from the experts about how to deal with minor children’s illnesses and what to do in an emergency. This innovative children’s initiative was introduced at our Ashton site 2 years ago and has already been rolled out at many other SSP Wigan and Leigh sites.
Lauren, mum of 2 boys under 4yrs, was hugely grateful to SSP for organising this as soon after attending one of these educational sessions, one of her sons seemed to be choking while eating. Instead of panicking and calling an ambulance or going to A&E, she knew exactly what to do.
Lauren says, “This was such a useful session for me and I felt so much more confident dealing with an emergency whereas I’d otherwise I’d have just called an ambulance.”
