SSP Health has launched a new quarterly newsletter for patients, giving them advice, support and tips.
The SSP Health Patient Newsletter will go out seasonally and the Summer edition has been released to patients across its 36 practice sites in the North West, with access via the web and social media, and links being sent out via text.
The magazine-style newsletter includes advice on physical and mental wellbeing, tips on how to achieve a healthy lifestyle, information on self-care for patients and their loved ones and guidance on how to access surgery services, which is especially useful after the changes in all GP practices due to Coronavirus.
SSP Health Director and GP, Dr Shikha Pitalia, said: “How our patients access treatment at our practices has had to change to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Far fewer patients are physically coming into our surgeries now, but they are being treated successfully by remote appointments through telephone and video calls and via our online consultation systems.
“While the vast majority of our patients are happy with this way of getting advice and treatment, we know many of them now do not see the very comprehensive range of posters, leaflets and other literature inside the waiting rooms of our surgeries which give really helpful information.
“We give out daily health-related material through our practices’ social media channels but we thought a Patient Newsletter, delivered digitally, could fill the gap in giving our patients vital information which can keep them healthy.
“We hope our patients and staff will give us suggestions for future articles in the newsletters, which are another way we at SSP Health can keep in touch with our patients and give them quick, easy and comprehensive solutions to their physical and mental health needs.”
