THE leadership of an SSP Health GP practice has been described as “Outstanding” by healthcare inspectors.
Leigh Sports Village practice was given an overall ‘Good’ rating after a recent inspection by NHS watchdog, the CQC – and inspectors said it was ‘Outstanding’ for well-led services.
It is part of SSP Health, which also runs Leigh Family Practice as well as branch surgeries in Higher Folds and on Wigan Road and a more than 30 other practices across the North West.
The inspectors said the practice at Leigh Sports Village – which has 4,000 patients – was “outstanding for providing well-led services because:
The inspectors also judged as “Outstanding” an afternoon tea which was organised by the practice for carers where support groups helped those who came. They also praised kits given out to people believed to be in fuel poverty and practice champions for cancer and carers who were trained in the safeguarding of vulnerable patients.
