Nurses are hailed as fine Fellows

TWO dedicated Practice Nurses have been recognised for their continued professional development.

Jodie Baczynski and Katie Holt have completed their training to become Practice Nurse Fellows in an initiative in collaboration with Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group.

The two nurses, employed by SSP Health, have been given formal structured theoretical education in General Practice Nursing, supported by practical skills training and guidance by experienced Practice Nurse Mentors within their surgeries. Jodie works at Leigh Family Practice and Katie is based at Leigh Sports Village.

SSP Health Director and GP, Dr Shikha Pitalia, said: “I want to congratulate Jodie and Katie for their hard work in achieving this status. They are excellent Practice Nurses and the knowledge they have gained from this training gives their healthcare careers a solid grounding.

“Thanks must also go to their mentors - Cath Adamson, Alona Zenalabdin, Pat Katz and Steph Ackerley - for their tireless support and for sharing their vast knowledge of General Practice Nursing.”
