The all-new Ashton Health Centre, for Bryn Street Surgery patients, is due to be open by the end of November and here we give you a sneak peek of what to expect from your new practice.
The building – on the corner of Bryn Street and Council Avenue where Ashton Town Hall once stood – will be the first-floor base for Bryn Street Surgery, with another GP practice on the first floor and a Community Services clinic on the ground floor.
The colourful interior has walls which reflect Ashton’s history – with art created from old street scenes – as well as its future, with murals taken from work by pupils at the nearby primary school.
The new Bryn Street Surgery will have six consulting rooms, an increase from the 4/5 the practice has now, and a comfortable reception area with TV screens and a digital sign-in system.
Environmental considerations have meant that 60 percent of the building's roof space has solar panels which generate electricity that is fed directly into the centre.
Bryn Street Surgery’s Patient Participation Group was recently shown around the new building, which has full disabled access and disabled toilets as well as meeting rooms and training areas for clinicians, staff and community groups. There will also be a new phone and computer system.
We will be giving out more information to our patients about the move to the new building over the coming weeks. Meanwhile, we welcome new patients and to register at our practice you can fill in this online form: https://www.ssphealth.com/register-with-a-doctor
