Bryn Street surgery is now open at its new home in Ashton Health Centre.
Our opening hours and telephone number are the same – though we have recently extended our opening hourse to 7.30pm on Wednesdays – and we will have the same staff and GPs.
The new building – on the corner of Bryn Street and Council Avenue, where Ashton Town Hall once stood – is the base for Bryn Street Surgery, on the first-floor alongside another GP practice, and a community services clinic on the ground floor.
We have a new computer and telephone system, which will be much more responsive than the last one.
The colourful interior of the building has walls which reflect Ashton’s history – with art created from old street scenes – as well as its future, with murals taken from work by pupils at the nearby primary school.
Our new Bryn Street Surgery has six consulting rooms, an increase from the 4/5 that the practice has now, and a comfortable reception area with TV screens and a digital sign-in system.
Environmental considerations have meant that 60 percent of the building's roof space has solar panels, which generate electricity that is fed directly into the centre.
The building has full disabled access and disabled toilets as well as meeting rooms and training areas for clinicians, staff and community groups.
Our Patient Participation Group was shown around the new building several weeks ago.
Practice Manager Vicky Winstanley said: “We are happy to have finally moved into the building after watching it take shape over many months. It is a wonderful facility for Ashton and our patients.
“I and all our staff at SSP Health will be working hard to ensure everything runs smoothly during the transition to our new home.”
