As part of routine inspections, the CQC felt that the practice did not meet in full the criteria it required. We have written to the CQC to ask for the report to be reviewed as we are concerned that the CQC has failed to follow its own processes in reaching these conclusions.

The report for Kensington Park states “Inspectors received positive comments from patients they spoke to during the inspection. Patients were involved in decisions about their care and treatment, and were treated with dignity, compassion and respect. Feedback from patients showed they were overall happy with the care given by all staff.”
An audit in January 2015 showed the Kensington practice is offering at least 125 more GP appointments per week than it is required to provide.
The main areas where the practices are asked to improve are around staff training and recruitment, learning from significant events and carrying out other audits (other than medicine management which was done extensively). These systems and processes are already being reviewed. We will work with NHS England to identify any weaknesses in the system and demonstrate compliance over the coming weeks.
We fully support the role of the CQC to monitor, inspect and regulate services. We are keen to co-operate fully with the CQC and have assured them of our on-going commitment to delivering safe patient services and care.
We are working with our partner NHS organisations and CQC to ensure that the reports are amended and to demonstrate that we are fully compliant with the CQC’s recommendations.
