Astley General Practice is doing its bit to help people in crisis after setting up a food bank donation point in the surgery.
Patients can deposit gifts for local charity The Brick Project at the practice which will be distributed to people who are homeless, in poverty or facing debt problems.
The services run by The Brick Project include running the largest food bank in Wigan, where the donations given to the practice will be directed to.
Vicky Westwood, Manager at the practice on Manchester Road, Astley, said: “Our staff really believe in the work done by The Brick Project and we are delighted to do our bit to help vulnerable people in this way.
“We are sure our patients will respond by generously depositing items at the donation point.”
