SSP GP features on BBC News

One of SSP Health’s award-winning GPs, Dr Omon Imohi, features in a BBC News report tonight looking at the reaction to Boris Johnson’s Queen’s Speech.

Leading BBC correspondent Ed Thomas was reporting from Leigh, in Greater Manchester, and Dr Imohi spoke to him about the challenges faced by primary care and GP practices and what she thought about the Government’s pledge to commit more money to the National Health Service.

Dr Imohi, recently named as GP of the Year in the Royal College of General Practitioners North West annual awards, detailed how pressures in hospitals, especially A&E, impacted on GP surgeries – including her own Leigh Family Practice – and how SSP Health was addressing this.

Ed also chatted to SSP Health patients who told him how important the NHS was to them as part of the feature on Leigh, which included other figures and issues across the town, after it returned a Conservative as the constituency MP for the first time in almost 100 years in the recent General Election.
