SSP GP wins prestigious award
AN SSP Health GP has been given a prestigious award for the excellent healthcare he provides to his patients.
Dr Adeyinka Adejumo – Lead GP at Bee Fold Medical Centre, in Atherton – has been named as the region’s Outstanding GP in the Royal College of General Practitioners North West annual awards.
The faculty represents GPs across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and South Cumbria and has almost 3,000 members.
Dr Adejumo won the award after being nominated for his leadership at the practice on Bee Fold Lane, which also helps to train medical students.
Last year, Bee Fold Medical Centre, which is part of SSP Health, was rated as Outstanding by health watchdog, the CQC.
Dr Adejumo said: “I feel very humbled and proud to have been nominated in the first place for this award. Many thanks to my colleagues and peers who nominated me and the faculty for awarding it.
“I feel immensely proud to be a GP and I wish to dedicate this award to all hard-working keyworkers and frontline healthcare staff.
“Special thanks to my colleagues at Bee Fold Medical Centre and the entire SSP Health team.”
SSP Health’s Chief Operating Officer Noleen Bailey said: “We are incredibly proud that Dr Adejumo has won this award – he is truly an outstanding doctor.
“He and his team at Bee Fold Medical Centre have continued to provide excellent healthcare to patients despite the pandemic and the challenges it has brought.
“The award is even more special as it has been conferred on Dr Adejumo by his peers in general practice.”
