Covid Vaccinations

The COVID-19 vaccine helps protect against COVID-19, which can be a serious or life-threatening illness. It’s offered on the NHS to people at increased risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19.

What is the COVID-19 Vaccine

The COVID-19 vaccine is designed to help protect those at higher risk of becoming seriously ill from the virus.

Viruses like COVID-19 change over time, and the protection from previous vaccinations can fade. That’s why it’s important to boost your immunity if you’re eligible.

Getting the vaccine can:
– lower your risk of severe symptoms
– help you recover faster if you catch COVID-19
– reduce your chances of needing hospital care or facing serious complications
– protect against various strains of the COVID-19 virus

Eligible groups
– adults aged 75 years and over
– residents in a care home for older adults
– individuals aged 6 months to 74 years in a clinical risk group (as defined in tables 3 or 4 in the COVID-19 chapter of the Green Book)
– frontline NHS and social care workers, and those working in care homes for older people
